Loop de LeFleur

Loop de LeFleur is our 2026 fun free summer event that is a great opportunity to explore the park with friends and see how many miles you can walk or run in the 4 hours. We’ve reserved a pavilion for our home base next to Mayes Lake. From 8:30 to 12:30 we will have a 3.75 (ish) mile course marked that winds through the park on a paved road and on crushed gravel trails around Mayes Lake, along the Pearl River and around swamps behind the Natural Science Museum in the beautiful LeFleur’s Bluff State Park.

Pavilion/picnic bench: drive through the security guard gate which has a $2 fee which MUTS will cover. The area around the pavilion (large covered picnic bench) is very shady, so there is no need to bring a tent. You may want a chair or cooler to hold your things and to hang out after.

Bathrooms: there are bathrooms on the upper level of the large pavilion

Food: we plan to cook hamburgers and hotdogs and will have some other snacks. Bring your own run nutrition please.

Time: the park does not open until 8:00, so we will not set up at pavilion #6 until then. We will begin as a group around 8:30 but if you need to arrive later please come whenever you can!

Directions: LeFluer’s Bluff State Park at Mayes Lake. 3315 Lakeland Terrace, Jackson, MS 39216. From Lakeland Dr, turn onto Lakeland Terrace, once you have passed the guard shack take your first right which leads you to the parking areas and the pavilions.
